Internet Explorer question. I'm still getting those send/don't send error report messages,

Either one I pick, always bounces me off of whatever I'm in the middle of doing. Tonite, I even checked off the box i found under Internet explorer troubleshooting, something like configurations, and unchecked the error reports, and then I couldn't access the internet anymore (no green bars or anything)...I've went to the add/remove programs, clicked on default settings, nothing's working and I am going insane! No, not really, but it's frustrating!

Internet Explorer question. I'm still getting those send/don't send error report messages, and they are **%26amp;^%windows xp professional

start with deleting your temp. internet files and cookies:

open your browser, click on tools, click on internet options, click the button that reads delete files and another window will appear that says something about offline content, click the box then click ok. Depending on how much stuff is there it could take a while until the hour glass goes away, when that is done click on delete cookies, when that is done click ok and close your browser. Restart your computer.

Another thing to do is to make sure you have all the updates available from Microsoft (the ones you want anyway). Some of them have script fixes which will fix a few problems with web sites. Click on start and look at your menu, mine has the option to go to Microsoft updates there. If you have not ever downloaded the updates this can take quite a while depending on which operating system you are using (Me, XP, Vista). When you start this it will ask you to allow something, something to run, click yes.

Hope this helps, it always does for me

Internet Explorer question. I'm still getting those send/don't send error report messages, and they are **%26amp;^%windows xp home internet explorer

its telling you theres a problem. you have a conflict or malware or you have deleted a system file. look in task manager when it happens, look for programs running or trying to run. running system tools cant hurt.

When I close interent explorer--I encounter an error every time saying internet explorer has encount

Does IE then ask if you want to send an error report? If so, turn off the error reporting this way:

Rt click My Computer then select Properties

Click the Advanced tab

Click Error Reporting

Click Disable Error Reporting

This will only stop the error reporting, it won't stop the error. I think you either have a virus, trojan or spyware. There are several things you can do, and one of them is to do a System Restore to a day prior to when this first started appearing. If you downloaded and installed IE7, that is part of the problem. Anything you have downloaded or done since this error started appearing will be gone if you do a System Restore, but before you load antivirus, spyware, etc., do the System Restore. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools and System Restore. Choose a date that is bolded, and click on it. Follow the prompts. Once the system is restored, restart your computer so XP will save the current settings. Then try logging back into Internet Explorer and see if your problem isn't solved.

Then get SpyBot and Ad-Aware both free from Download.com and one of the good free antivirus programs, either Avast or AVG. Run SpyBot and Ad-Aware daily, and keep them up to date. They will save you a lot of trouble.

Why does my internet explorer keep crashing ?

I am getting tired of the error reporting stuff and my internet explorer crashing like 5-7 times per day!!

Why even bother reporting errors? it's not like the problem is fixed anyway.

I use a couple of windows open as I work back and forth with different websites and then they crash!!

I ran a virus scan and nothing of course...

Now I am sorry I upgraded to the new IE 7.

Why does my internet explorer keep crashing ?microsoft zune

IE 7 is designed to work most efficiently with the new operating system (Vista).

It is a memory hog, they only way you can get it to work properly is to increase your memory .

You may also want to upgrade your cpu.

as for me, i am not going to use it. for home surfing i use Firefox and Opera, for work i use Explorer 6

Why does my internet explorer keep crashing ?windows nt internet explorer

My Internet explorer is showing certificate error for some sites.how can i solve this problem?windows vista ultimate

By not using internet explorer... use firefox.

My Internet explorer is showing certificate error for some sites.how can i solve this problem?default browser internet explorer

It really depends on what sites you are visiting and what certificate error you are getting.

Your browser will generally give you a certificate error on sites that contain malicious scripts and / or have certificates that are suspicious or revoked..

I would also suggest that you try running windows update to ensure you have the latest security patches... including internet explorer.. this may also resolve your issue.

Good Luck
it is not that their is something wrong with the sites though their maybe but it is doing that becuase your virus protector is scanning the encryption connection which ie detects as certificate having an error. if you turned your virus protector off you would not have this message but you are better off leaving the virus protector on because if their is really something wrong with the certificate your virus protector should be able to detect it better then ie will
i recommend you to download firefox which is way better than internet explorer here is the website http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/lan...

My Internet explorer keeps saying a error has occured + needs to end now then goes off?windows xp themes internet explorer

hey mine does that alot too! not too sure why? think it may be due to spy ware as it tends to happen if I'm running lots of programs at once as well. so think when a spy ware is working and I'm online downloading a page or something its crashes because to much is going on??? this is just a guess though!
You're getting errors because IE generates them. This is because Microsoft hates you.

To find your version, when IE is open, click "Help" and then "About"

Firefox counts as an upgrade from IE. You may find it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
if you're using internet explorer 6 and running XP then go here for an upgrade ot internet explorer 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/product...

have you defragged and run chkdsk lately not doing so can cause unexpected crashes
you might have a low threat virus. maybe something you downloaded of the internet. a adware virus it makes your system slow . search your computer under the C:\program files\2.bin i was experiencing these problems my self and sure enough there was my problem. if you can installe macaf trend micro pc cillin.. hope it helps..
everybody has trouble with that in ie6. it's just a bug. when that happens drag the error box down below the bottom of the screen keep on surfing the web. do not click any buttons.

be smart and get firefox. then get a plugin called fasterfox to speed it up

http://www.getfirefox.com/
Have you tried Firefox? http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I find it much more stable than IE and its free
I read a while ago that they shut down because of security issues my bt browser used to do it a lot it's annoying but better than trashing your computer

Why won't Internet Explorer run on my Vista computer?

Whenever I try to open Internet Explorer, I get a runtime error message for the program iexplore.exe. It started as an intermittent problem, but has now become chronic. Mozilla works fine. Since this has been happening, I also get a message when I am shutting down about MSASCui.exe. It says that Instruction at 0x03035ac0 referenced memory at oxo3o35ac0. The memory could not be read. I wrote to MS about the problem and got a reply that I could pay them goobles of money to talk to a tech person either by phone or chat, or I could contact my comp manufacturer. I am running Vista Home Premium, which means that I can't just reinstall IE, since it is part of the Vista package. My comp is a Toshiba laptop purchased new in January with Vista on it. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it without spending goobles of money?

Why won't Internet Explorer run on my Vista computer?ireland

Since you bought the PC in January, it should still be under warranty by Toshiba, which means they should be providing you with free technical support for both Vista and IE7. You can call them at 1 800 457 7777.

This is definitely a problem with the PC itself, although whether it is specific to IE7 or a Vista issue I can't tell you. I do internet tech support for a living, and we are not trained, licensed, or authorized to provide this kind of fixes for other people's software; to say more would be either speculation or stupidity on my part and you might violate that warranty if I was mistaken...

Good luck with Toshiba; they are usually pretty good about these things.

Why won't Internet Explorer run on my Vista computer?microsoft outlook internet explorer

i dun't no how to fix it but u could always get a new broswer.get Mozilla Firefox, it's free.

www.mozllla.org

install it and use it. don't waste time on I.E. no more
MSASCUI.EXE = Windows Defender

Try disabling Windows Defender and see if IE will run. You can disable it in Control Panel %26gt; Security Options. Click on Windows Defender, then Tools in the toolbar. Select Options. Scroll down the list and disable real-time protection. Scroll a little further down and uncheck the "Use Windows Defender" option under Administrator options.

If IE will run after disabling, you may have a plugin installed that Defender doesn't like. From then, I would say call the computer manufacturer and have them help you determine which plugin is causing the problem. They have snarkles of money to spend and figure it out.
Well, maybe, you need to download internet Explorer 7. I know for ra fact that IE6 won't run on Vista. Although, not many things DO run on vista.
Yeah i would update your internet elxplorer using windows update

What version of Internet Explorer are you using. I'm going to assume 7.

Have you got all the latest updates for your Windows Operating System/Internet Explorer.

If you dont i would try updating your system.

If this doesnt' resolve your issue, you could have some spyware infections causing your trouble in which case i would download Adaware or AVG antispy and clear any infections you may have.

If this does not resolve your issue, try uninstalling IE and reinstalling it. You can uninstall it by going to add/remove programs.

HELP! Internet Explorer problem?windows installer internet explorer

Could be some file corruption. First update and scan your computer with your security products such as antivirus and antispyware applications in Safe Mode. If your computer comes up clean after running your resident security products, you may want to consider running a System File Checker (SFC). This can also be run in Safe Mode should you prefer.

To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting up. To run SFC, close all applications such as Office, Messenger, Email, etc, and go to:

- Start

- Run

- Type in sfc /scannow (include the space before the " / ")

What SFC does is that it attempts to fix or replace critical operating system files. Sometimes this can be done without the installation disk, however it may prompt you for the appropriate operating system installation disk. If that is the case, then you know that you definitely have major file corruption or something missing. Insert the disk if prompted. Also you should run SFC using the Administrator account.

If you have the Vista operating system, the steps are a bit different due to the UAC. See the link below.

http://vistasupport.mvps.org/system_file...

Don't surf, play games or do anything while SFC runs. After it is completed, reboot your computer.

One of the major culprits in missing or corrupt operating system files is running a registry cleaner or optimizer. They can flag important shared files for deletion or cleanup. Another cause is malware.

NOTE: Before running any registry cleaner or editing the registry, always ensure you back it up first. If the registry cleaner you are using doesn't have that function, you can do it manually. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756
Spyware?

Free - For starters, download, update and run a full scan using SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) http://www.superantispyware.com/

SAS is an exceptionally easy to use application that will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones. In addition it has the ability to remove Vundo and Smitfraud infections. SAS can lock your home page to prevent browser hi-jacking attempts.

If possible it is recommended that you load SAS in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. If you are badly infected you might need to run SAS more than once to help clean your system. Afterwards if the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore to purge the files.

Assuming you have some real awkward infections that persist even after trying all the above I suggest you download a dedicated Smitfraud removal program from:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/deskto...

If possible run in Safe Mode.

Likewise the dedicated VundoFix:

http://vundofix.atribune.org/

Good luck %26amp; safe surfing.

wdw
Only a thought, but have you visited the

Microsoft site for updates like SP2 download

or an update of I.E ?
pop up blocker should be on if you want to block or stop pop ups!

as for your problem i had a similer problem when i had the skype tool bar installed try uninstalling any no microsoft tol bars.

turn off system restore.

now uninstall internet explorer 7

use your original restore CD/DVD to install internet explorer from the operating sytems install disc.

restart the computer.

restart in safe mode and scan your system for malware. if you are using av-gold as your malware protection program you are infected with malware (spybot search and destroy lists this as one of over 10000 malware items it knows about.

avg is only mentioned due to its poularity and the fact that it wa and is know to do more harm than good (when i tried it several years ago). I now use a much better defence package.

your firewall should be correctly configured to warn you of all outbound connections. and to block and or warn you of incoming connections.

if you have turned off these warnings or your firewall has been left set to it's manufacturer default settings you are at risk of malware entering your system and causing the symptoms you listed.

if cleaning your system in the above manner still fails you have two options scrap the computer or hard drives and replace them, OR reformat your hard drives and reinstall your operating system, then reconfigure your malware defence programs. once these are configured only then connect the computer to your modem and internet. get all the official updates for your operating system restart as required.

once all updates are done for both your operating system and the malware programs have the latest updates scan your computer for known malware. only once the scans are completed and your defence (firewall etc) are configured correctly proceed with re-installing all your other software.

as for the data in your "my docs folder or wherever you store any documents you create you need to back up those to cd or dvd or external hard drive and only re-install those to the original location once you have scanned them for any malware that may have infected your personal data files.

again you only need to go as far as a reformat and reinstall if you can't get the program to reinstall.

you may like to try to restore to a date BEFORE this problem was noticed. if this does not resolve the problem attempt to install and use registry clean expert demo version and or buy the full unlocked version. the difference between the demo and full is the demo only fixes a few problems per scan and fix cycle where the full program fixes all items it detects however to be sure your computer is fixed you would run the scan and fix program several times for best results until the program reports no errors.

see http://www.registry-clean.net for the program.
Has to be file corruption.Re-install internet explorer.

Is there another way getting online besides using Internet Explorer?safari browser internet explorer

Should have been using Firefox.
Netscape, Firefox, Search web browsers
try using slimbrowser
yes, you can use mozilla firefox which i find is a lot safer than internet explorer. i'm not sure how you'd be able to download it though if you're having problems with your internet explorer. i hope this helps anyway.
mozilla firefox-download it frm google, itz a part of the google servicez
how did you post this if you IE won't let you get online?

anyway - if you can, get firefox (at getfirefox.com) - it's a much better browser.

You may need to uninstall, and reinstall IE - hopefully that would get it working. I think you may need your original Windows install disc, though.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, and select Internet Explorer, and go from there.
there r a lot of web browsers now. id recommend Firefox <>http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/%26gt;

but there are other very good ones such as Netscape Navigator and Safari *only Mac i think*

have fun!
Don't think they understand what you want. Have a friend download spybot and ad-ware se then copy to a usb device or burn on a CD install on your PC then do a scan. Also do this clean disk that's under programs accessories system tools, do a clean disk scan disk depending on your windows version. then a de-frag. That might fix you up recommend that first. Also do a virus scan. Next time keep your PC maint. up to date. Get the protection programs and use them often weekly or more. Many are free no excuses.

Why do I get a message that Internet Explorer has encountered an error needs to close every time.?

You probably need to defrag and run your spy ware stuff.

Why does internet explorer keeps on crashing, and pop up this send error report thing?

why does internet explorer keeps on crashing, and pop up this send error report thing?

also, how will i uninstall my internet explorer since i dont see it on my add/ remove programs??? i hate internet explorer!

Why does internet explorer keeps on crashing, and pop up this send error report thing?microsoft outlook

There are many possible reasons why your Internet Explorer keeps crashing. The short, and most likely answer, is simply that your copy of Internet Explorer is pooched.

The long answer is that it could be any one or combination of the following things:

1. Virus

2. Spyware/Malware

3. Corrupt Internet Explorer program

The pop-up you mentioned is part of Windows' programming. When a program crashes, it'll try to send information it believes pertinent to the crash to Microsoft, where their team might be able to diagnose and fix the problem (don't hold your breath).

The first thing you should do is to try and make sure that your computer isn't infected with viruses, spyware, or malware. This will be a long and arduous process, because there are many scans to run, and most of them take a long time.

Whether or not you have an up-to-date antivirus software on your computer, I recommend that you run both of the following online virus scan programs, because your antivirus might not catch everything that's out there.

Oh yeah, clear your "Temporary Internet Files" (also known as browser cache) before running these scans.

1. Panda ActiveScan: http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/...

2. Trend Micro HouseCall: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

These should automatically remove/quarantine any viruses they find. But they won't remove the spyware/malware, because they want you to buy their product.

Next, if you don't have any antivirus software installed, or the above two scans found viruses despite your current antivirus software, you need (better) antivirus protection. Try either AntiVir at http://www.free-av.com/ or AVG Anti-Virus at http://free.grisoft.com/ (both are free).

Then, it's time to check for spyware/malware. You'll need to download, install, update, and run scans with the following programs:

1. Ad-Aware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/30...

2. Spybot - Search %26amp; Destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-De...

When you're done scanning with both programs, it might be a good idea to reinstall your Internet Explorer. The reason for this is because it is integrated into Windows. If any part of IE is corrupt, it might cause other problems even when you're just looking for files on your computer (Windows Explorer uses Internet Explorer). Also, as others have already mentioned, because of this, you cannot uninstall IE from your system. You can download the setup file from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

Finally, you can install a third-part browser. You should do this after running the scans, because some viruses can infect files you download, plus third-party browsers can import your IE settings, and some of those settings might have been created by spyware.

Here, too, you have choices. My browser of choice would be Firefox, which is also a media favorite, and has already been mentioned here.

1. Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/

2. Opera: http://www.opera.com/

3. Safari for Windows (beta): http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

With third-party browsers, you might also need:

1. Flash Player: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/...

2. Java Runtime Environment: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?in...

(Scroll down and look for "Java Runtime Environment (JRE)," along with the lastest version number, and click on the "Download" button.)

Why does internet explorer keeps on crashing, and pop up this send error report thing?windows messenger internet explorer

Not sure, but I can tell you that the same thing kept happening to me so I started using Firefox. No problems anymore!
You cannot remove internet explorer because it is deeply integrated into the OS.

Install another browser recommend Mozilla Firefox and make it your default browser it will ask you when installing.

Make sure you do a spyware or virus check after just in case.
dont worry with firefox, just look at their support FAQ they have as much trouble as anyone.

you need to do the following with ie7

To fix IE7

========

Boot windows in safe mode, if windows fails to do this select safe with networking or some other safe option.

In safe mode, using explorer delete the contents of Datastore folder.

Datastore folder is found in

c:\windows\softwaredistribution\ datastore.

This is safe to do as the file will rebuild itself. You may have to do it again 6 months time etc.

Usually this is the trick, but if you still have problems, go to Google and search for “Reset IE7” as for a major shake up fix.

In IE7

1. turn of the phishing filter

2 . in –advance tab - tick the instruction to empty the temporary files when the browser closes.
could be the hard drives, or u r computor.
you won't be able to remove I.E. as rightly suggested you can try a reinstall of I.E. or upgrade to I.E. 7, also i will not prefer turning off phishing coz it acts as a security layer for you.

also if you are not in a mood to work with I.E. any more you can go for Firefox, Opera or safari.

if you are a window's user go for FIREFOX + safari combo.

safari can be used for fast working were as firefox for its plugin base.
IS Internet Explorer 'freezing', that is stopping working altogether and requiring a CTRL+ALT+DEL to close it down? Or is it giving you a message 'Internet Explorer needs to close ...'?

The latter usually produces the automatic pop-up message regarding sending the error report; this can be useful in 2 ways. Firstly you can click on the link shown to enable you to examine the error report being sent (though really you need to be a programmer/engineer to make any sense of it). Secondly, you also may get a link after the report has completed and been sent, that takes you to the Microsoft Crash Analysis site. Here you often are advised of the cause of the 'crash' or offered other useful information.

Occasionally, the 'crash' can be caused by your virus scanning programme running in the background. It senses something about your usage of Internet Explorer, or about the web page you are visiting, and causes the 'crash' by interrupting the scripts running.

More often the 'crash' is caused by another programme running in the background - an IM programme. I found this the case with Yahoo Messenger on many occasions. You get directed to the Yahoo site and advised to download the latest version of Messenger. Unfortunately (for UK) this is often the US version, which screws up your plug-ins such as Weather, etc.

Other possible causes are too numerous to mention here, and include a 'full' Temporary Internet Files cache, dodgy or out-of-date Cookies, tracking Cookies, spyware, and background programmes that need updating (Java, etc)., the list goes on.

You cannot uninstall IE, only install another browser as your default browser. However that may not help the problem, as other browsers still depend on the same files within Windows that IE uses.

So, what's the answer? - Try making notes at each instance of a 'crash' - what you were doing at the time, which website you were on, what you had open on other tabs, what other programmes you had running at the same time, etc. After a dozen or more crashes, check your notes and look for a common denominator that 'may' give you an idea as to what could be the cause.

Note: Sometimes you will see Internet Explorer exhibiting weird behaviour - bits of the page missing that miraculously reappear when you mouse over, headers appearing twice on the same page, bits of a previously viewed page superimposed on the current one, etc. This can sometimes be caused in times of excessive bandwidth usage to the site you are viewing. The easiest way to deal with it is merely to either close Internet Explorer and reopen it after a minute or two, or to restart your computer. Usually this weird behaviour occurs when visiting the same, very popular, site.
keeps on crashing on my computr too,so started using firefox, much better, dont remove explorer from your computer though because you will not be able to access windows update without it I stopped the error reporting thing, right click my computer%26gt;properties%26gt;advanced(system properties)%26gt;error reporting and selected disable

hope this helps

IE expected to find a certain value in RAM but it found something else instead. Possible causes, leaky ram, another prog using the same space or software glitch. Unless it is failing RAM live with it as it will be hard to fix

My computer may have crashed in internet explorer...can it be?

First off...no new software has been added to the laptop in the last couple of months, and I frequently do disk clean ups and defraging to my laptop. I've never had a pc or laptop crash on me, so I don't even know if it has crashed.

Here's the story:

I was busy checking a few websites when I suddenly got a blue screen that said there was an error and windows was shutting down to protect the computer.

I restarted and then the next thing it said was Operation system not found...

What does that mean?

I got it to run by changing something (can you tell I know very little about the operating parts of a computer) to reboot, and then it started to load and went back to the windows screen with all my icons. As soon as I clicked on the Internet explorer icon, I got the error message where you can choose the option to send or don't send, and after making my selection the blue screen again with the same message as before.

After this, I just let it be.

Hoping you can help.

My computer may have crashed in internet explorer...can it be?windows live messenger

First update and scan your computer with your security products such as antivirus and antispyware applications. If your computer comes up clean after running your resident security products, you may want to consider running a System File Checker (SFC). This can be run in Safe Mode should you prefer.

I am able to access my internet, but the explorer will freeze up after a time, and I lose whatever I was doing on the internet. A box pops up, asking whether or not I want to send the error report. I am able to get back onto the internet, but after a time it freezes again, and have to keep reopening it. Frustrating! Anyone know why this is...do I have a virus? Thank You!

My internet explorer keeps freezing and saying, "No-response" and "Send error report"...what's wrong?opera browser

OK, first, you may get a million answers that says you have a virus --- you probably don't

First, defrag your hard drive.

My computer

C drive

right click

Properties

Tools

chose defrag

If your hard drive has not been defragged in a while, it may take a few hours to do that.

If that does not do it, then follow the same instructions, but this time chose "error checking" Check all the boxes.

You will need to restart your system to do that. Walk away because it will take some time. Best to start when you go to bed and it will be finished in the morning

If that doesn't do it, try to use update on your operating system.

If that fails, reload your operating system in.

Hope this helps

The first answer is good, but it doesn't address the problem of your operating system. I use both browsers, mostly firefox, but IE to update my system and check different email accounts without logging off of my main one that I have opened on firefox.

Use another browser. Firefox is a good one or Opera. There are many others to chose from. I would venture to say any of them are better than IE. I quit using it years ago.

Hello. I just had a very similar problem with my IE. It turns out some of my plug-ins had corrupted one another and were causing exception errors each time I used the browser. I un-installed and re-installed all browser plug-ins (including YHOO toolbar, etc.) and the problem was resolved.

Good luck!

IMHO you should just try some other browser ;) Like Opera or FireFox.
hi, why not ditch Explorer for Firefox, it is free, uses less resourses, has a popup stopper and it's much safer, also it won't mess with your current explorer setup, meaning you do not need to uninstall explorer but you can jut forget it:

My emails had blank text and I could only see the header info (To/From/Subject) the following steps fixed the problem:

1. Close all browser windows. 2. Open a new browser window. 3. Click on Tools at the top of your screen. 4. Click on the bottom choice - Internet Options. 5. On the Internet Options drop-down menu, go to the middle section titled Temporary Internet Files. 6. Delete all cookies (button in the middle) 7. Delete all temporary-files (button in the middle) - this step took about 3 minutes - patience! 8. Clear History (button on bottom right-hand corner) when done with all cleanups, click OK at the bottom of the Internet Options screen.

This won't "fix" Internet Explorer, but may solve the problem in a roundabout way.

Open Adobe Reader from the Start Menu, All Programs, Adobe Reader.

Under the Edit menu, click Preferences.

Under the Categories list, click Internet.

Uncheck Display PDF in browser.

Click OK.

Now it won't open PDFs in the browser (IE), so it can't crash IE, either. PDFs will now open up in Adobe Reader in their own separate window, however. I hope this works for you. Good luck.

Get rid of the problem by downloading Mozilla Firefox, and start using only Mozilla.

I had similar problems with IE, and they disappeared when I started using Mozilla.

Also, if you don't have them already: go download.com and get AVG Free (antivirus), then Adaware SE (anti spyware), if you can find Symantec Personal Firewall (best free firewall out there) and RegCleaner 4.0 from here: http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/r...

you'll be protected.

I guess whet I told you was beside the question, but I know how frustrating it is when things aren't right, and what I mentioned is what I use every day with superb result.

Go Mozilla!

when did you get this, seach for html or internet explorer files, specially in temp folders, if you find this file delete it.

Make sure to search between the dates this first appear, right click internet explorer, properties and change your homepage, make sure this is not your home page.

Another way to change this is in internet explorer go to tools, internet options, and change your home page.
Hi,

There are two possible problems.

1. Your internet explorer has errors. In that case go download the latest internet explorer with all of the patches.

2. You have a virus or bug. In that case, virus scan your computer. I recommend Norton Antivirus, Norton Anti-Spyware, and Norton Anti-Adware.

Hope this helps you out.

-Jahn
You have an infection. That link is bad. Go to this Windows site and do a proper Scan and removal. It will walk you through it.

It sounds like you have a virus. It won't go away unless you clean out your system. Make sure you have an antivirus installed and in good working order.
Go to microsoft.com.au,go to techs help page, find phone number or email address, email or ring them,it is all for free. They will ring you straight back and help you fix problems with your pc while you are on the phone so you need broardband or a mobile.
Try to right click to your internet icon, properties, find target go to target , when you find the folder containing internet explorer icon

right click, make a copy and paste it in your deskto and delete the other icon that does not work.

I am definitely not a computer geek but I think if you go on Google and type these items in there, you could get some help with it. You did not say are you running Windows 98 or Windows XP? Maybe you could go to your internet provider and talk to the technical people about the problem. Sometimes they can help or offer suggestions. Is there a computer repair store around where you live? You might try calling them and they maybe could troubleshoot over the phone for you. Good Luck with your problem.

How do I get my internet explorer to connect to the internet?

Everytime I open up Internet Explorer I get the following message, "Connection error, please check your internet connection!"

That means your computer is able to connect to internet. Then at this point you need to check your settings for internet explorer (go to tools-%26gt;Internet options-%26gt;Connections). See if there is something weird.

If not, then close the browser-%26gt;go to start-%26gt;Control panel -%26gt;Network connections-%26gt;Disable the Network card by right clicking. Wait for a min and enable it. See if network card is giving an error.

Yes i know the answer. The problem is that you're using Internet Explorer.

Go to www.getfirefox.com and download firefox. Use it, love it, forget you ever touched IE.
Switch to FireFox.

Or,

Go to install/deinstall programs (add/remove software) and when you choose to uninstall IE, an option to repair it will appear. Try that.
i suggest you try to reinstall it or you may switch to mozila firefox, netscape, opera or other browser which better than IE

If you know you are connected you might have a DNS Issue.

Try this: type 209.73.186.238 in your browser. instead of www.yahoo.com. Do you get the web page? if not can you ping your router? If not then the wireless isnt working correctly.

If that link did work, modify your DNS settings to whatever your ISP supplied you.

You're describing the symptoms of a virus. Update and run your antivirus software. Also you neglected to mention which version of Internet Explorer you're using. If you're using Internet Explorer seven remove it, then reinstall it. If you're using Internet Explorer six tried disabling all of the add-ons, then go back and reenable them, one at a time until the problem occurs, then leave the problem add-on disabled.,

go to control panel and click on add / remove programs then find your ie7 and remove it. that should revert you back to your old ie6 or later.

Internet Explorer 7 Problems?windows xp pro internet explorer

Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and delete it from there. Reboot and you should be retrograded to IE6.

If the problems persist, try following the instructions in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting up.

Internet Explorer ie7 won't connect but firefox can??!? WTF???

Okay, so I was doing fine and minding my own business when I noticed that Explorer 7 was not functioning anymore. The error message I see is: (Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage) . I am using an HP Pavilion notebook about a year old, running XP with an AMD athlon64. I also use Firefox, so for a time I simply avoided pain by using Firefox. Unfortunately for me, there are websites that only support and need to use Explorer, so I must get it figured out. So far, I have uninstalled and reinstalled MIE7, I've reset settings. I've run spyware and virus (Norton) proggies with no results. I've hit half a dozen websites and visited Microsoft for ideas. I've done it all and I still cannot use MIE -- at least not for anything related to the Internet! From what I can see from Google searches on this thing, it's a wide-spread annoyance. But I don't see any fixes yet PLEASE HELP!!!

Internet Explorer ie7 won't connect but firefox can??!? WTF???microsoft office 2003

Try going to tools %26gt; internet options %26gt; connections tab %26gt; lan settings %26gt; make sure those three boxes aren't checked

by default the top one normally would be and that sometimes can keep you offline- otherwise mozilla is a better browser anyway and is more secure and i would recommend using that anyway.

Good luck!

Try to delete the files, Cookies, History on internet explore
I suggest you consider using Netscape because it very similiar to explore and firefox.
Uninstall IE7. Replace iexplorer.exe (found in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer), if still present with iexplorer.exe of IE6 (get it from someone, shouldn't be too hard to find).

Now install IE7.

Hope this helps.

I can access a web page using Internet Explorer, but when I click a link on the page a message often pops up telling me that an error has occurred and that Internet Explorer must close. I am not highly trained in computer usage. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks. Granddad

The next time that happens, copy the main wording of the problem in the pop up window. There's usually a code with numbers. Enter that into Google search and you will normally be lead to Microsoft Knowledge base or a forum addressing that same problem. It will describe the cause of your problem and corrective actions to be taken.

I can't open "http" pages using Internet Explorer but can open "https" page

I've got Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 installed on my Windows XP home computer. I'm able to open web pages begining with "https" (secure pages) but unable to open pages begining with "http" (regular pages) in the address.

I've got Mozilla Firefox 1.5 also installed and it works alright...

What's causing this problem? How can it be resolved?

NOTE:

I require to use Internet Explorer to access my online banking site. It doesn't work with Mozilla Firefox or any of the other browsers.

I've been told that there's a Memory mismatch with the motherboard on my home computer.

The Internet Explorer settings are the default settings on installation...

I'm using ZoneAlarm as firewall and BitDefender as anti-virus software. I'd earlier un-installed these software to connect to the internet. It still had the same problem without the firewall and anti-virus software. I don't get any error messages. The page does not display any error messages and the status bar does not display any messages.

Why can`t i open youtube from my internet explorer ?

:( everytime i try to open youtube i get

(( Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:

You are not connected to the Internet.

The website is encountering problems.

There might be a typing error in the address. ))

and ofcourse neither of these are the reason

Why can`t i open youtube from my internet explorer ?microsoft works

Maybe try getting Mozilla firefox, they usually are good with these type of problems

Why can`t i open youtube from my internet explorer ?windows mobile internet explorer

If you are trying to access it from work, they may have it blocked.
Maybe your Internet was working and got busted when you went to YouTube
That happenned to me the other day but for a different website, however other sites worked for me. Maybe it was just down for maintenance temporarily. If it's still not working maybe try downloading firefox. I personally I hate fire fox but I know my schools website will only work on fire fox and not internet explorer.
use Firefox. Easy fix.

truthfully, if its not interfering with the way the computer or internet explorer works, I'd not worry about it... yes its annoying... but if everything seems to be working right, don't worry about it
hey if the internet explorer update didnt work get Mozilla Firefox from http://www.download.com and also download windows aero skin or internet explorer skin and then you don't feel that you are using mozilla you think it is IE 7.
1. Uninstall IE and then reinstall it.

2. When you reinstall it, ensure that you have all windows update done, esp those pertaining to IE.

3. Install a different browser, as Mozilla Firefox, Safari for windows or Opera and then check to see if you have the issue.

4. Install IE 7 and then check to see if you have the issue or not.

I installed Internet Explorer 7 on my computer and now Windows will not boot. To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."

Uninstall that, restart your PC and you are on IE6

Installing Internet Explorer 7 fully crashes Windows?windows xp service internet explorerNo one answered my question as it needed to be answered. The real answer was that my entire system needed to be repaired, and it was from another question that I found out how to do that. Report It

Log on in safe mode (during startup press F8) and choose Safe Mode. Once logged in, you should be able to Go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and find Internet Explorer 7 in the list. Remove it, and reinstall only version 6.
If you can get to where you can uninstall it, do it. When the IT people at my job loaded it on my work computer, it totally killed my computer. It kept rebooting over and over by itself and wouldn't stop. They had to totally wipe my computer and load everything on again.

Try using the repair feature of Windows XP. It is going to replace the system files that have been corrupted with fresh ones.

If you know how to do an Installation, then do it and choose the repair option when asked. it will restore your windows operating system withoutn you loosing any of your files or any of the programs that were installed on the machine.

I once experience that problem and that was what i did.

If you do not want alternatives like Mozilla then stick to IE 6. It is safer than IE 7.

Hope it helps...

Help! MUSLIM internet explorer!!?

I just downloaded this new beta browser called MIE (Muslim internet explorer) and whenever I try to go to youtube or any kind of video or image site other than a Muslim site, it blocks me and an error pops up that says "I'm sorry but you are an INFIDEL! Do not visit such sexy sites or we will stone you to death. Please contact your local cult to get in touch with a suicide bomber representative today." Is there a way for me to bypass this error? I really like MIE's browser design and don't want to give it up because of such a silly error.

It's not an error. It is doing what it is programmed to do.

Wow! that was a mouth full,I never heard of MIE(Muslim Internet Explorer). But thanks for the warning anyway. I sure likes to lick them!
Dont know whether your just taking the mickey or for real, if its for real, you need to delete it as its pages liek this that create problems between faiths Im a Muslim and never want that, secondly, what is all this about contacting a local suicide bomber, thats just crap man, people should nt talk like this or advocate anything like this at all, its wrong, whats wrong with using a proper browser, why you using a Muslim one anyway??

How can I get my microsoft internet explorer????

I can't use my microsoft internet explorer anymore and not sure why. Everytime i try to get into it, there is a message that states that there is an error and it has to close. The only way I can access the internet is through Netscapes and it doesn't allow me to do as much as I.E. How can I get it back?????

How can I get my microsoft internet explorer????nintendo ds browser

Sometimes this happend by corrupted dll or application. Next time you run your internet explorer and close with the error, check in details and look for the application caused the error. I deleted some dll's are no longer working on my computer and Internet explorer works again.

Remember, please check first if application or dll is not a part of windows operating system before delete, or you will get undesired results.

How can I get my microsoft internet explorer????windows 98 internet explorer

you can try reinstalling internet explorer.

go to start %26gt; control panel %26gt; Add or Remove programs %26gt; on the left hand side click "Add/Remove Windows Components" %26gt; in the list of components make sure "Internet explorer" is ticked. and then click next and it should reintall internet explorer for you.
You had mentioned Netscape and the previous answer showed you how to install and uninstall but have you tried Firefox. It is a great browser and it is free. I love it. Hope this helps.
In fact, it's a pain as the IE is giving us people so much fuss. I don't know what version you got, but I have read loads about having to stay away from IE7, exactly the one I had installed on my laptop pc. The thing is that, today, I upgraded to IE8, but did not get rid of IE7. Not sure whether that might work for you, but I think I would try the following (no guarantees though):

Because this is a Microsoft developed product, there should be quite a few ways of sorting this mess out. Would you please try and uninstall your current version completely and upgrade it to the next version?

If it still won't work, what I could possibly envisage here would be the total removal of the IE and get a lower version.

Hope this may be helpful. So sorry if it still won't solve that matter of yours.

Happy Easter 2008.

Tony, London, UK
You should try Firefox or Safari. You can get both as free downloads and they've been proven to be much faster than explorer. Plus with firefox you can get cool add ons, for example an ad blocker which removes advertising banners off websites :)
